Alparslan Kabasakal (er/ihm) ist 27 Jahre alt und studiert im Studiengang M.A. Photograph Study and Practice an der Folkwang UdK. In seiner Arbeit öffnet er Fragen zu Themen die als postmigrantischer Mensch allgegenwärtig sind: Zugehörigkeit, Identität und die Neuverhandlung von Sozialen Gefügen. Die fragmentarischen Fotografien die aus dieser Auseinandersetzung entstehen sind keine Antworten, sondern offene Fragen die in einem imaginären Raum anregen. Parallel dazu erkundet er die Überschneidungen der Fotografie mit dem japanischen Haiku, die Ergebnisse aus dieser Forschung unterrichtet er unter anderem als Dozent und in Workshops für Jugendliche.

Alparslan Kabasakal (he/him) is 27 years old and is currently pursuing his M.A. in Photography Studies and Practice at the Folkwang University of the Arts (Folkwang UdK). In his work, he raises questions regarding themes that are ever-present as a post-migrant individual: belonging, identity, and the renegotiation of social structures. The fragmentary photographs that emerge from this exploration are not answers, but rather open questions that stimulate reflection within an imaginary space. In parallel, he explores the intersections of photography and the Japanese haiku, sharing the insights from this research in his role as a lecturer and through workshops for youth.
